What We Do

The Polkemmet Beekeeping Association (PBKA) is a group of local West Lothian, amateur beekeepers, of varying experience from “newbees” to seasoned well stung heroes who provide active supportive mentorship to all.

All members are part of an association WhatsApp group where they can seek advice, ask questions, and provide knowledge and experience to other members.

During the Spring/Summer season we meet regularly at our Polkemmet teaching Apiary to inspect our association hives and provide practical skills to all members.

Membership

Annual Membership of the association is £15 (£10 Concessions) with a further £5 cost to maintain a hive in one of our apiaries

As a member you can benefit from:

  • the experience and knowledge of other members.
  • bulk discount obtained as an association from beekeeping equipment suppliers through consolidated purchasing.
  • Help throughout the year in supporting your honey bee colonies.
